Makeup For Celebrities Biography
Celebrity Makeup, Trends

The “dip-dye” hair trend has been popping up all over the red carpets and in magazines for quite awhile, and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere any time soon. Check out these celebs and their rainbow bright ends and learn how to create the look at home!

Annalyne McCord rocks purple ends while Demi Lovato wears a ombre pink ponytail.

Kate Bosworth and Dakota Fanning  casually sport dip-dyed ends while out and about.

Jessie J and Jamie King

Katy Perry wears streaks of pink, purple and blue at the MTV Movie Awards, while Gaga sticks to just blue ends on the same red carpet.

Nicki Minaj is a huge fan of the dip-dye. She’s worn every color from pink, to blue to green in her hair on many different occasions.

Trying the dip-dye trend doesn’t require a long-term commitment, or even hair dye! I recently had the opportunity to test it out on myself using Hair Color Chalk, a temporary hair color that rubs into your hair and washes out just as easily! They have eight bright colors that all showed up really well on my brown hair (I bet they’d look fantastic on blondes!). It’s been fun switching up my look by playing around with all the different color combos!

Lady Gaga is taking her role as MAC Vivia Glam Spokesperson to the next level with her new campaign “Glam This Way,” dedicated to raising awareness about AIDS. It’s no secret that Gaga fans are some of the most dedicated super fans out there, so she is relying on her “Little Monsters” to spread the word about this important issue.

To do so, she is inviting everyone to log onto VivaGlam.com to upload a photo of themselves. Next, spread the message of AIDS awareness throughout all the social networking sites and the more you do, the bigger your photo will appear on the site.

In the end, the photos will be printed onto a couture creation that her fashion stylist and best friend, Nicola Formichetti will create and Gaga will wear her fan’s faces on her body.

Celebrity Makeup Trend SS 2011: Hot Pink Lips

Remember when bold lips were popping up all over the Spring/Summer 2011 runways (here)? From Jil Sander to Fendi and Diane Von Furstenberg, it was obvious, hot pink (and we are talkin’ hot) was in.

Usually celebrities makeup artists will pick up on a runway trend and tame it down for their clients in order to be more appropriate for the red carpet. Not this time! As evidenced by the growing number of celeb faces wearing neon pink lips lately, it’s apparent that bolder=better.

Kelly Osbourne is a huge fan of the trend, as she has been seen rockin’ hot pink lips multiple times over the past several months. On the left, she wears a bright fuschia lipstick at the Tribeca Film Festival and on the right, she pairs her neon pout with a fierce cat eye and ponytail for the Maxim Hot 100 party.

Jessica Szohr at the Love, Wedding Marriage premiere this month. This color looks great on her tan skin.

Gisele Bundchen at the Robin Hood Foundation Gala. She kept the rest of her look very simple, letting her lips take center stage.

Another fan of the trend, Emma Stone! I love the pop of pink against her pale skin. On the left, she wore fuschia lipstick at the Met Gala, which looked fantastic against her muted Lanvin dress. On the right she was spotted at the Conde Nast Traveler Annual Hot Party with a slightly different shade of pink and a swipe of black liquid liner.

Milla Jovovich at the AmFAR Gala in Cannes this month.

Kristen Dunst at the AmFAR Gala in Cannes.

Taylor Swift finally took a break from the red lip she lovesss to wear on the red carpet and decided to go with hot pink instead. We like.

Kat Graham at the Young Hollywood Awards.

Jennifer Hudson at her album release party.

Gwen Stefani chose to wear hot pink lipstick and a black smokey eye to the Tree of Life premiere in Cannes. You’d think this combination would leave you looking like a $2 hooker but I’m surprised at how well she pulled it off! Only Gwen..

Get The Look:

The best thing about this trend is that it is extremely versatile- every skintone can pull off a bright pink lip! From paler girls, like Emma Stone, to olive skinned beauties like Jessica Szohr, to deep complexions like Jennifer Hudson, it looks amazing on everyone!

Check out my favorite hot pink lipsticks:

-Obssesive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anime is my absolute favorite product for this look!! It’s so pigmented and bright. The perfect neon pink.

-Illamasqua’s Avenge Lipstick is a creamy yet matte hot pink.

-NARS Carthage Pure Matte Lipstick is a fantastic, full coverage hot pink.

-MAC Girl About Town is a little bit of a deeper hot pink. It’s opaque but still as a bit of a sheen to it, if you’re not one for matte lips.

What do you think of hot pink lips? Will you be wearing them this summer or leaving it to the celebs?

Yes, she may have been photoshopped into oblivion but nevertheless, Jennifer Aniston looks amazing on the cover of Allure’s February 2011 issue. I love the makeup! Such a change from the natural look she’s most accustomed to.

Makeup Artist Gucci Westman gave Aniston a “60′s 70′s look.. bronzy, with fresh pink cheeks.” The entire shoot was Brigitte Bardot inspired, complete with clip in bangs designed by Jennifer’s hairstylist, Chris McMillan.
